The perfect choice for those wanting bike perfection. A complete strip down and rebuild to get you those marginal gains.
- Everything in the MOT plus:
- Both hubs are taken apart and bearings inspected for wear, replacements installed if necessary.
- Headset is taken apart and inspected for wear, replacement quoted if necessary.
- The bike is stripped and cleaned thoroughly.
- During the rebuild, we make sure to use the correct paste compounds and lubricants, re-torquing components to the manufacturer specific requirements to get those marginal gains.

“The goal of Headwind is to make cycling accessible to everyone”
After years of cycling and competing in triathlons, Alex decided to turn his passion into a career. After completing training up to Cytech technical three, which is the highest attainable qualification in professional cycle maintenance in the UK, Headwind opened at Unit 12 Dockray Hall Industrial Estate, Kendal.
The goal of Headwind is to make cycling accessible to everyone. Alex wants to actively encourage as many people as possible to get on their bikes, enjoy the great outdoors and explore the amazing area we are lucky enough to call home.
All bikes are welcome at Headwind. Whether it’s a child’s bike bought from Facebook Marketplace in need of some TLC before it’s safe for your little one to ride, or a top of the range time trial bike for competitions, Alex is on hand to provide advice, repairs and servicing to get you back on your bike as quickly as possible.
